“Praying for the Brothers vs Being One with the Lord”
1 John 5:14 This is the confidence with which we approach him: that he hears us if we ask anything according to his will.
1 John 5:15 If we know that he hears us when we ask, we know that we have what we asked of him.
1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray for him and give him his life—even for those who commit sins that do not lead to death. But I do not say that one should pray for sins that lead to death.
John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in me and I in him will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:7 But if you live in me and my words in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Romans 12:4 Just as in one body there are many members, and not all of them have the same function; Romans 12:5 so we, all of us, in Christ, are one body, and each one a member of one another.

|
Meaning |
Interceding for weak or sinning brothers so that life may be supplied to them |
Abiding in the Lord, being joined to Him in spirit and in the fellowship of the divine life |

Being one with the Lord is not outward imitation, but inward union in life |
|
Nature of Prayer |
Intercession, life-ministering, Body-centered supply |
Fellowship, abiding, union, and harmony with God’s will |
|
Way It Operates |
Seeing a brother’s condition in fellowship and praying in spirit for him |
By abiding in the Lord, remaining in fellowship, and following the inner anointing |

Basis of Prayer |
Seeing a brother commit a sin not unto death |
Asking according to God’s will, not personal desire |
|
Principle of Life |
Life swallows up death |
Union brings in the flow of life |

Weak believers are restored, death is overcome, and the church is supplied |
Prayers are heard, conscience is without offense, and peace with God is maintained |
|
Purpose |
To restore the brothers and preserve the fellowship of life in the Body |
To live in God’s will and become a channel of life |
|
