The necessity

of being measured

by the Lord

To enjoy a deeper flow of life, one must be fully measured by the Lord

1. Being measured means being tested, examined, judged, and possessed by the Lord

2. Our motives, purposes, goals, and desires must all be judged

3. This process deepens the flow within us

Ezekiel 47:3-5 "He measured a thousand cubits, and the water was ankle-deep... knee-deep... waist-deep... a river that could not be crossed"

The process of

being measured

Requires multiple and thorough measurements

by the Lord

1. It's not a one-time process

2. Needs to be measured four times, symbolizing thorough judgment and testing

3. Even after many years, we still need to be measured again

Indicated

by the depth of the river

1. The river's depth reflects the degree to which we've been measured and gained by the Lord

2. From ankle-deep to an impassable river, reflecting different degrees

Ezekiel 47:3-5 describes the changes in water depth

John 7:38 "Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water"

The result of

being measured

Being fully possessed by the Lord, gaining true freedom

1. Being completely immersed in living water

2. Losing old freedom, gaining true freedom

3. The flow of living water carries us towards our goal

Ezekiel 47:5 "It was a river that I could not cross"
